Hello Everyone!
My name is Nora Flickinger and I have been with Wavetech for about four months now. Keep reading to find out what my first business trip was like!
Monday Morning
Monday mornings are usually the least favorite day of the week in the business world, but for me, this Monday morning would be different.
I would be taking my first business trip with Wavetech and I would be flying on a plane for the third time in my life. My favorite adventure is skydiving, but I guess staying inside the plane the entire time would have to do.
We touched down in beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah and I couldn’t be more excited and in awe. We were not in California anymore. The green hills went for miles and the air was cold and crisp. We grabbed our bags and got in our rental car and headed towards the Zermatt Resort.
As soon as we got there we were greeted and handed our name tags and schedule for the next two days. Our schedule was packed back to back with speakers, lunch, PowerPoints, demos, and dinners. There were so many companies and products to learn about, it was overwhelming.
By the end of the second day Shawna and I had a stack of informational papers about four inches high and had spoken to over 40 venders. Did I mention I was overwhelmed? So. Much. Information. But it was exciting. I was learning so much more about the telecommunications industry from products to the people who were a part of it. I finally was able to understand the basics of SD-Wan for the first time and figure out that “Cloud” can mean a lot of different things depending on what you’re referring to.
